In the morning, Daron is headed up to northern Ghana. Actually, he is probably on his way now. He was going to head up to Mole National Park via a very crowded bus for 12 hours. Please pray that he has a wonderful time exploring and seeing a different part of Ghana, that he has a safe trip, and that he gets word on the passports and I-600 when he returns!

Wow! I hope he has a great time. that sounds like so much fun! Well. . . except the crowded bus in Ghana heat part. He's going to have some great stories to share with the kids when they're older. How cool!
Laurel, did you take a bus with the kids or hire a driver? Where did you stay?
We hired a driver for each of our trips. We felt it was very much worth the extra expense. And, after seeing all of the busses on the roads (and a few accidents) we felt much safer in an SUV.
We took a 4 day trip up North, spending 1 night in Bolgatanga (to visit the kids' village), 1 night at the hotel at Mole Nat'l Park (w/ 2 hour walking safari), and 1 night in Kumasi (with a visit to the King's Palace).
We also took a 3 day trip to Cape Coast / Elmina, with a visit to the rain forest (and suspension bridges) and a tour of the Elmina Slave Castle.
We hired Edward at Diaspora Travel to make all of our arrangements for us (car, driver, hotel, etc...). On our trip North we had Alex as a driver, and would highly recommend him. He was wonderful with the children. On our trip to Cape Coast, Edward was our driver.
